Lot 2566. Exceptional model, scale reproduction of the French ship "LE HOUSSARD" made entirely of 18K white and yellow gold (1,360 gr) with diamonds and sapphires.
Exceptional model, scale reproduction of the French ship "LE HOUSSARD" made entirely in 18K white and yellow gold (1,360 gr) with brilliant and princess cut diamonds of approx. 85.25 ct and oval and round cut sapphires of approx. 75.00ct total.
This refined piece was made by the Catalan jeweler Josep Solé Sellarés (1961-2018), in the early 1990s, closely following the work that was carried out in the Fabergé workshops, where he found the inspiration to reproduce this work. In this work of fine goldsmithing, we not only find a high level of detail and precision, such as the rudder, enriched with diamonds or moving parts such as the cannons and the different hatches or portholes, but also at the base of the model we find an elaborate 'Rosa de los Vientos' decorated with more than 700 diamonds and sapphires, further exalting this wonderful piece. What makes it really special is that it has a mechanism inside that turns the model into an automaton, being able to move in different directions. The piece sits on a base made of blue enamel and ebonized wood, under 'Bleu du Roi' plaques.
All parts come unassembled for convenient shipping and transportation, but can be welded.
Measurements: Boat 13.50 x 16.70 x 3.50 cm. Base 9.50 high x 18.50 base cm. Furniture base 12.50 x 47.60 x 35.50 cm.
